Notes for Mary C Cooper
Brockway is twelve miles southwest of Circle. It was named for James Brockway. Mary Brockway was appointed postmaster when the office opened in 1913. The town is a railway center for the vast inland stock and grain country surrounding it. A two-story frame boarding school was built and maintained because long distances and inadequate roads made day school impractical for most students.
